✈️ Travel Guide and Weather 💼

Here is a quick travel guide, with weather included! Please reach out if you have any questions!

🎒Quick Pack List:

  • Laptop, chargers
  • Travel Documents (driver license, student ID)
  • Blanket/Pillow
    • Since our hackathon is 36 hours, there will definitely be time to sleep in-between :)
  • Towel, Shower Shoes, Clothes
    • We will have showers available during the event, so bring spare clothes!
  • Water Bottle
    • There are many refillable stations at the venue!
  • Layers
    • The building will be very cold during the night, be sure to bring something warm!
  • Toiletries
    • Keep your hygiene!

🌤️ Weather:

The average April weather in Lawrence can be between 40-80°F and is generally sunny during the day, but be prepared for the possibility for rain as well! Make sure to bring layers for the night, as it tends to get cold.

Friday:

Be prepared for some thunderstorms on Friday 🥶. There are forecasts of lots of rain, and a potential tornado warning!!!

⚠️ In the case there is a tornado warning, please follow the instructions of the organizers to ensure your safety! Be on the lookout for the Discord channel for announcements on cancellations and where to go! ⚠️

Saturday:

The day should be generally sunny during Saturday, with a little bit of wind and the humidity being around 40%.

Sunday:

Similar to Saturday, the weather on Sunday will be sunny throughout the day!

🚗 Travel Reimbursements:

Unfortunately due to financial reasons, we are unable to provide travel reimbursements this year. We still hope you are able to make it out to HackKU26!

🏘️ Accommodations:

HackKU will not be providing any specific sleeping accommodations, but all participants are welcome to sleep in the venue if they wish. There will be a couple rooms designated for sleeping/quiet spaces during the event. There are several affordable hotels near KU’s campus if you are interested as well.
